      Grades 9-12 A classic shojo manga finally back in print, Marmalade Boy is a fun and nostalgic romantic comedy. When Miki's parents announce that they are getting divorced and swapping partners with another couple they met on vacation, her life turns upside down, as her new blended family brings a boy her age: Yuu both sets Miki's heart racing and frustrates her to no end. Marmalade Boy is a series that introduced many of shojo manga's original tropes to English readers--the romantic tension between teenagers sharing a living space, love triangles between childhood friends and new romantic interests, and the more controversial teacher dating a student. Marmalade Boy keeps the tension high with misunderstandings, past love interests, surprise kisses, and dramatic tennis matches. This series is still compulsively readable for both teens and seasoned manga fans, with Yoshizumi's artwork reflecting both a retro aesthetic and a certain clean linework that still reads well. The new edition is carefully edited and modern without losing the inherent feel of the original.
