This accessible design resource puts a spotlight on DIY projects that can be accomplished in a weekend. The decorating activities, rated in terms of difficulty, are presented by area or room, starting with the front porch. There are also sections on entertaining, organizing, cleaning, and repairing one's home. The color photos accompanying each project serve as good inspiration, although in most cases, the book doesn't illustrate the projects step-by-step. Still, the projects look simple, attractive, and customizable. That results in some great ideas for even the most experienced or jaded crafter. The "Life Hacks" sections scattered throughout this work rank as one of the best features, providing particularly helpful tidbits. VERDICT This attractive and useful addition to the DIY home design shelf will appeal to both new and experienced crafters.--Eva Mitnick
