      Grades K-2 The books in the People in My Community series consistently supply a basic, friendly introduction to a popular social studies topic for early-elementary children. Bright photos with occasional labels show people at work and the tools they use in their jobs. The books are addressed directly to readers and are effective in relating various service professions to childrens lives.
