Gr 3-4-These books offer an assortment of limericks, riddles, knock-knocks, tongue twisters, and fun facts about each topic. The black-and-white cartoons complement the subject matter, either completing the joke by illustration or just adding to the humor. Each title also has a page about how to write your own joke book. Each volume presents mostly familiar (along with some that are fresher) jokes, tongue twisters, and limericks; "Fun Facts" text boxes provide a little nonfiction alongside the zaniness. The books are divided into short, topic-based chapters (e.g., "Cats," "Ocean Animals," and "Insects" in Animal Jokes). Over-the-top black-and-white caricatures illustrate the jokes.
